Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) seeks a Lead School Lunchroom Helper to support the Student Nutrition Services team across SFUSD sites. The role covers meal service, food preparation, and supervising a small team of 2615 Student Nutrition Workers.

Must meet minimum qualifications, including a high school diploma, one year kitchen experience with POS, and a valid Food Safety Manager certification. The position offers a permanent exempt appointment; schedule includes 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of routine kitchen work experience including use of a computer and point of sales software
• Requires possession and maintenance of a current Food Safety Manager certification
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Provides lead direction, guidance and oversight to 2615 Student Nutrition Worker.
• Assigns, instructs, and participates in the work of 2615 Student Nutrition Workers, following prescribed menus and training.
• Maintains Student Nutrition Program compliance with all federal, state, and local guidelines.
• Operates Point of Sale system, manages cash deposits and reports, and maintains inventory records.
• Maintains high standards of food safety, sanitation, and accurate record-keeping.
