Job summary

IKEA Madison in Alabama is seeking a Retail Store Associate to float between departments and deliver a helpful shopping experience. You will actively greet customers, assess their needs, and advise on home solutions while maintaining clean, stocked areas and applying IKEA merchandising standards.

The role also covers stocking, food service duties, inbound goods, and processing transactions; 34-40 hours weekly on a temporary, full-time basis, with pay in the range of $18.50–$26.14 per hour, plus

Qualifications

  • 1 year of retail experience, preferably in the home furnishing sector.
  • Experience in actively selling through understanding customers and their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively approach customers requiring additional help identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their homes.
  • Keeps area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked. Ensures that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience.
  • Convey passion about IKEA products and actively learn about their features and benefits, sharing this knowledge with customers to help them make informed choices, resulting in a better overall shopping experience.
  • Build furniture as needed for In Shape As New, introduction of new products, commercial calendar implementation and remodels.
  • Prepare, produce, and maintain IKEA Food menu items; serve all IKEA Food menu items; follow procedures and guidelines for safe food handling, cleanliness and sanitation, and workplace safety.
  • Receive inbound goods and ensure inventory accuracy at the point of receiving.
  • Flow product to final selling location.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.

What you’ll be doing day to day

JOB TYPE: Temporary, Full-Time

Anticipated length between 90-180 days.

HOURS: 34-40 hours per week. Open Availability required Monday-Sunday.

The pay range for this role is $18.50 - $26.14 based on IKEA equivalent years of experience
