Job summary

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is hiring temporary/on-call In-Room Dining Servers for Rohr's in the campus Hospitality department. This role delivers high-quality room service and guest experiences across Notre Dame facilities.

As an In-Room Dining Server, you will prepare and serve food and beverages to guest rooms and banquet spaces, uphold safety and service standards, and provide knowledgeable concierge support about Notre Dame and campus events.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive, respectful, excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, transport, and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic food and beverage items to hotel guest rooms, banquet meeting rooms, and dining rooms.
• Exercise discretion and exemplary professionalism while in and around guest rooms and private areas.
• Bus tables and efficiently remove service items from guest rooms, hotel hallways, meeting and banquet dining rooms, the hotel lobby, terrace, and other designated areas.
• Lift and carry trays for beverage and food service according to established standards.
• Respond immediately to any safety and cleanliness concerns within the work environment.
• Perform tasks repeatedly and re-prioritize assigned tasks as needed to support service for other team members.
• Provide concierge services, including sharing knowledge of food and beverage offerings, Notre Dame, South Bend, and specific events on and around campus.
• Anticipate guest needs and proactively suggest and offer additional items to enrich their experience.
• Clean and maintain all Room Service equipment and supplies.

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for temporary/on-call In-Room Dining Servers at Rohr's in our campus Hospitality department. The UOES Division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations.

In-Room Dining Server

As an In-Room Dining (IRD) Server, you will be responsible for providing detailed and expeditious food and beverage service directly to our guests in various settings. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience in accordance with all University Operations, Events, and Safety Hospitality Standards.

Pay Rate:

$12/hr + tips
