Job summary

North Hill Needham Inc. in Needham, MA, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse for an enhanced living program. The position runs 8–12 weeks with a schedule that includes every other weekend.

You will administer medications, monitor residents, and collaborate with Care Partners to ensure the highest standards of care in a team-based environment. Valid MA license and CPR/AED are required, with dementia experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital, assisted living, long-term care, or related facility
• Experience working with dementia patients preferred
• Proficient with computer software programs and EMR

Responsibilities

• Administer medications in accordance with policies and state regulations with accurate documentation
• Respond to resident requests for support and use communication systems appropriately
• Collaborate with Care Partners to ensure care meets North Hill standards
• Respond to resident requests for assistance and care
• Answer PERS calls promptly and respond to alarms
• Participate in household routines and shift handoffs
• Update resident care plans with residents and interdisciplinary team
• Report allegations of abuse or safety concerns and support investigations
• Ensure physician orders are transcribed accurately and followed
• Participate in QA program and monitor supply usage to avoid waste
• Complete incident reports timely and notify family per policy
• Report hazardous conditions or incidents to supervisor
• Follow safety and infection control policies, Serve Safe food handling
• Supervise Care Partners to ensure duties are completed
• Meet uniform, appearance, and grooming standards
• Comply with OSHA and local health and safety laws

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse provides nursing care in accordance with standard nursing practice and in accordance with North Hill standards of care. The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse will assist in conducting clinical rounds and collaborate with the clinical team and the Care Partners regarding Resident care needs.

• Assists in administering medications in accordance with Enhanced Living policies, procedures, and state regulations while ensuring documentation is accurate and complete
• Responds to Resident requests for support and uses communication systems appropriately
• Monitors and collaborates with Care Partners and coaches them to ensure Resident care meets North Hill standards
• Responds to Resident requests for assistance and care
• Answers personal emergency response system (PERS) calls promptly
• Actively participates in household routines
• Ensures resident care needs are met through effective communication with the management team, timely response to resident requests and PERS alarms, and consistent shift-to-shift communication Updates individual Resident care plans in collaboration with the Resident, responsible party, and interdisciplinary team
• Recognizes and reports all allegations of Resident abuse, neglect, exploitation, social media exposure, and/or misappropriation of Resident property to the Director of Vista Terrace, the Wellness Nurse Managers, or the Nursing Supervisor and supports the investigation as needed
• Ensures physician order are transcribed accurately and executed
• Participates in QA program
• Ensures Pharmacy and treatment supply usage is efficient to ensure costs to Residents are accurate and not wasteful
• Completes incident reports on a timely basis. Notifies family or point of contact according to policies and procedures
• Reports hazardous conditions, equipment, and incidents to the supervisor on the shift they occur
• Follows safety requirements to include Emergency Management Plan and established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures
• Follows safe food handling per Serve Safe guidelines
• Supervise Care Partners and ensure completion of Resident Care duties
• Meets department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirements
• Complies with all OSHA safety regulations, applicable local laws regarding health, safety, or environment

• Attends and participates in in-service educational classes, memory care training, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directed

Education And Experience

• A current license as a Licensed Practice Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts
• Current CPR and AED Certification
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a hospital, assisted living, long term care facility or other related health care facility is required
• Experience working with dementia patients is preferred
• Proficient with computer software programs and EMR

Satisfactory completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

Pay Range: $36.00-$46.50/hour
