Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a TEMP RN in the Emergency Department to assess, plan, direct, provide, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires at least 9 months of RN experience, OR ED experience, and Oregon licensure with BLS/ACLS and ENPC or PALS within specified timeframes. This position offers night shift, full-time hours, and hospital-based care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Oregon RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for managing medical and/or surgical patients.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patients' response to treatment.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and agencies.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Classify acuity level of assigned patients and establish priorities for patient care.
• Accurately calculate and administer medications.Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.

About This Role

Requirements

Education:

Experience:

• Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience
• One (1) year of current ED experience or successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente New Grad Internship Program in the ED

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current RN License in Oregon
• Basic Life Support required at hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
