Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a temporary residential cook in Joshua Tree, CA. The role involves preparing meals for residents in a crisis residential treatment program and supporting daily living activities under supervision.

The position offers AM shift hours, on-site at Joshua Tree, with 18.00–21.00 USD per hour, and includes on-the-job training and potential paid CEU opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of full-time experience providing non-professional services within a mental health, healthcare, or social service agency.
• Preferred: one year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical setting, including knowledge of therapeutic diet preparation.
• Must possess a valid California Driver's License and a current ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coaching clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs); preparing meals and snacks; shopping for food and other life skills.
• Assist with and supervise meal preparation following applicable standards and regulations.
• Help with client laundry, household cleaning and other tasks to keep the facility clean and safe.
