Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Orange, CA seeks a Residential Food Service Specialist to cook and assist with meals for residents, support ADLs, shop for food, and ensure meals meet safety and dietary guidelines.

This role requires at least 18 and one year of experience in mental health or healthcare settings, ServSafe certification, California driver license, ability to lift, and willingness to work Friday-Sunday shifts. SBHG offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience providing non-professional services within a mental health, healthcare, or social service agency.
• Preferred: one (1) year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical setting, including knowledge of therapeutic diet preparation.
• Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and a current ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Physically lift and carry food service supplies and equipment without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Coaching clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs); preparing meals and snacks, shopping for food, and other life skills.
• Assist with and supervise meal preparation by current applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
• Assist with client laundry, household cleaning, and other tasks as needed.
• Ensure facilities are clean, orderly, sanitary, and attractive.
