Job description

Join to apply for the Temporary Research Technician role at North Carolina State University.

Assist research scientists with ongoing lab and field projects on local and State water bodies. Responsibilities include travel to aquatic field sites, operating and trailering boats, maintaining equipment, calibrating sensors, maintaining logs, analyzing water samples with quality control, and compiling data reports. Support general duties in laboratories, education outreach, and administration.

Position Details:

  • Location: Raleigh, NC
  • Department: Applied Ecology - Center for Applied Ecology
  • Type: Temporary
  • Work Schedule: 35-38 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm

Requirements:

  • Combination of training and experience
  • Ability to work on aquatic sites in all weather, lift 50 pounds, maintain boats and equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with electronics, programming, water quality analysis, and laboratory instruments

License: Valid driver’s license (NC license required)

Salary Range: $20-$22/hr
