Organization Overview

The Department of Housing and Residence Life manages on-campus housing for over 1600 students, overseeing renovations, maintenance, and safety. The department emphasizes integrating academics and out-of-class learning through various programs.

Position Purpose

This position is considered essential personnel, responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and emergency response. The work schedule varies and may include evenings and weekends, with advance notice provided. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain work order requests and ensure completion of maintenance tasks.
2. Manage projects with minimal supervision.
3. Perform preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
4. Respond to emergency situations, including weather and mechanical issues.
5. Repair and troubleshoot air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems.
6. Handle miscellaneous tasks flexibly as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience in mechanical or building trades, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
