Why Join Angi

Angi® is defining the future of the home services industry, creating an environment where homeowners, pros, and employees benefit from more jobs done well. For homeowners, our platform is a reliable way to find skilled pros. For pros, we're a reliable business partner who helps them find the winnable work they want, when they want. For employees, we’re an amazing place to call home. We can’t wait to welcome you.

About The Role

Our Payroll team sits at the intersection of people and numbers — ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time, every time. We're a collaborative, detail-oriented group that takes pride in getting it right, whether that means navigating complex multi-entity payroll, keeping up with evolving compliance requirements, or building the processes and documentation that set us up for long‑term scale. We move quickly, support each other, and genuinely care about the work we do.

We're looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join us on a temporary basis to support our payroll accounting function during a critical period. You'll be coming in ready to contribute from day one — working on key reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting deliverables while also supporting our Canadian payroll operations. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional looking for meaningful contract work with a high‑impact team.

While this is a remote position, we are a global company and are looking for applicants located in eastern or central time zones to align with our team's working hours.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare payroll‑related journal entries and record them in NetSuite
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, researching and resolving variances within 30 days
  • Accurately reconcile and record payroll‑related cash transactions
  • Prepare monthly payroll accrual and actual payroll expense load files for the GL accounting team
  • Process biweekly Canadian payroll for two legal entities, ensuring timely delivery and full compliance with all statutory requirements
  • Reconcile monthly benefits billing statements to internal payroll records, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Support year‑end reconciliations, compliance reviews, and other internal audit initiatives as needed
Who You Are
  • You have 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll accounting, with exposure to both payroll operations and general ledger accounting
  • You're comfortable hitting the ground running in a new environment with minimal ramp‑up time
  • You have hands‑on experience with NetSuite and/or Blackline, or similar ERP and reconciliation platforms
  • You have a solid understanding of payroll compliance, including US federal and state requirements; Canadian payroll experience is a strong plus
  • You are meticulous about accuracy and take ownership of getting the details right
  • You are a clear communicator who can respond to cross‑functional requests quickly and professionally
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; CPA or CPP designation is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
  • The hourly band for this position ranges from $35 - $40 per hour, commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location.
  • The rare opportunity to work with sharp, motivated teammates solving some of the most unique challenges and changing the world
