New Era Cap, LLC is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Operations Associate for our NYC flagship store in SoHo. This on-site role supports peak retail season from late October through early January, handling inventory, stockroom organization, and back-of-house operations to ensure a smooth store operation and exceptional customer experience.

Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks, stand for extended periods, and work weekends/holidays. The position is 100% on-site in New York, NY.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of retail stockroom experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays late Oct–early Jan.

Responsibilities

• Inventory & stockroom management: shipping/receiving, organize stockroom, support replenishment.
• Operational support: restock sales floor, follow security protocols, keep area clean.
• Collaborate with team to prepare products for visual merchandising and store events.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters.
• Assist other store functions as needed to meet customer and operational needs.

As a Temporary Part-Time Operations Associate at New Era’s NYC Flagship Store in SoHo, you’ll ensure the store runs like clockwork by handling inventory, maintaining an organized stockroom, and supporting back-of-house operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives behind the scenes, keeping everything efficient and seamless so the team can deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Inventory & Stockroom Management:
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, ensuring products are checked, processed, and organized accurately
  • Maintain an organized and accessible stockroom, making it easy for the team to locate and replenish products
  • Support inventory counts and replenishment to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize shrink
• Operational Support:
  • Collaborate with team members to restock the sales floor efficiently and maintain product availability
  • Support loss prevention efforts by adhering to security protocols and maintaining stockroom integrity
  • Perform daily tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and maintaining a clean, polished environment that reflects New Era’s high standards
• Collaborate with team members to restock the sales floor efficiently and maintain product availability
• Assist with preparing products for visual merchandising updates and store events
• Works collaboratively with the store team and may step in to support other functions and areas of the store as needed to meet customer and operational needs
• Keep all sensitive matters confidential
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Operational Excellence:
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and shipping/receiving processes is a plus
  • Ability to follow operational procedures and maintain high standards of organization and accuracy
• Organizational Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including climbing ladders, bending, squatting, kneeling and lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience

• A minimum of four (4) years of retail stockroom experience
• Comfortable performing physical tasks and standing for extended periods of time
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, team-first mindset
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays from late October through early January
• The retail store operates Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note that store hours may be adjusted based on business needs, including customer demand and in-store events

The hourly rate for this posted position is $19.00 per hour and pertains to candidates located in New York City. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
