Job summary

The City of Kodiak Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Temporary Maintenance Technician to perform a range of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks on city properties, facilities, and right-of-ways.

Under supervision, you will operate various hand and power tools and equipment, lead temporary staff, and ensure safety and quality in maintenance, repair, and construction work across parks, facilities, and streets in Kodiak, Alaska.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of maintenance, construction or trades experience.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and construction work on City buildings, facilities, structures, and grounds.
• Maintain playgrounds, parks, trails, and related facilities and grounds.
• Direct traffic around work sites and install barricades and cones as needed.
• Monitor and perform preventative maintenance on fixtures and equipment; ensure safe operation.
