A boutique California-based employment litigation firm is seeking an experienced Temporary Paralegal to provide high-level support for a busy team of three attorneys during a 3-to-4-month maternity leave coverage. This role begins ASAP and runs through October or November. The ideal candidate is a California litigation pro who’s organized, tech-savvy, and confident working independently in a remote setting. You’ll be supporting over 100 active cases, handling document prep, discovery, e-filing, and case management with minimal oversight.

Salary Range: $50 - $55 / hourly

Temp Paralegal Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and edit pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research and summarize statutes, case law, and findings
• Maintain and organize digital case files to ensure deadlines are tracked and met
• Coordinate document production and manage discovery workflows
• Support attorneys with deposition, hearing, and trial prep
• Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
• E-file documents in accordance with California court procedures
  
  

Temp Paralegal Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal
• Deep understanding of California litigation procedures, employment litigation is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and legal file management systems
• Experience with Cleo is a plus or similar legal practice management software
• Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills
• Must be based in California or the West Coast (PST) and available full-time
• High school diploma or equivalent required
  
  

Assignment Details

• Start Date: Within 1–2 weeks
• Duration: ~3–4 months
• Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM PST and potential for overtime
