Job summary

City-and-County-of-Broomfield seeks a Social Caseworker II to perform professional and administrative work in assessment, case management and direct service delivery across child welfare programs. On-call duties and court testimony are part of the responsibilities. Requirements include a relevant bachelor’s, a master’s preferred, and state certification readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or human behavioral sciences.
• Master’s degree in a human behavioral science field preferred.
• Current Colorado Child Welfare Social Caseworker certification preferred.
• 2 years of casework experience in a public or private social services setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake, assessment and evaluation for child abuse/neglect, juvenile delinquency and youth in conflict cases.
• Investigate abuse/neglect allegations; assess risk and safety.
• Develop and implement strategies including out-of-home placement or hospitalization as needed.
• Perform home visits and coordinate services (life skills, daycare, healthcare, substance abuse treatment).
• Write reports per state/federal guidelines and agency procedures.
• Conduct case management duties including data entry.
• Collaborate with other departments, agencies and vendors to serve client needs.
• May conduct joint investigations with law enforcement.
• Monitor progress with treatment plans; testify in court as needed.
• On-call duty after hours, weekends and holidays.
