Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Buying Operations Associate to support daily merchandise flow and cross-functional collaboration across distribution, planning, and creative teams. You will ensure product information and styles are live on the website on schedule and handle sample PO management, vendor communications, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operational functions within the designated buying area.
• Support the buying team in managing overall merchandise flow.
• Ensure styles are live on the website in a timely fashion.
• Open and review sample purchase orders, take measurements, and route samples to appropriate teams.
• Provide samples to brand creative and styling teams.
• Manage email communication and liaise between vendors and buyers.
• Respond to shipping, logistics, payment, order, and distribution center inquiries.
• Provide vendor reporting and assist with reporting for business review and hindsight meetings.
• Share upcoming products with creative and merchandising teams.

Job description

• Support daily operational functions within the designated buying area
• Support the buying team in managing overall merchandise flow
• Perform administrative tasks as needed
• Develop cross-functional relationships with market and internal partners, including distribution center, planning, buying operations, website merchandising, brand creative, and photo studio teams
• Ensure styles are live on the website in a timely fashion
• Open and review sample purchase orders, take measurements, and route samples to appropriate teams
• Request missing samples from vendors or the distribution center
• Provide samples to brand creative and styling teams
• Update STEP with product information
• Review styles that are Received Not Activated weekly
• Verify website style copy and details and alert the team to corrections
• Partner with buying operations to ensure timely merchandise delivery
• Manage email communication and liaise between vendors and buyers
• Respond to shipping, logistics, payment, order, and distribution center inquiries
• Alert buyers to costing or timing implications of orders
• Provide vendor reporting and assist with reporting for business review and hindsight meetings
• Share upcoming products with creative and merchandising teams
• Participate in seasonal trend roundups and share relevant assortment additions
• Add product information to TXT
• Assist with issuing and revising purchase orders
• Reconcile attributes weekly and ensure correct coding
• Update care labels for own-brand products in Tradestone
• Pull picture packs for meetings and as requested
• Receive, review, manage, and return samples to vendors
• Send purchase order requests for own-brand assortments
