Job summary

Tailored Brands, Inc. is seeking a merchandising leader to translate trends into realistic programs and to own end-to-end buying for a category. You will shape assortment strategy, pricing cadence, and promotional plans while ensuring alignment with financial targets.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, initiative, and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. Domestic travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising or related field.
  • 5+ years merchandising experience.
  • Experience in buying Men's Apparel preferred.
  • Strong analytical, financial, strategic and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication and organization skills.
  • High initiative and ability to execute independently.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Domestic travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies marketing and merchandising trends and translates into merchandise programs.
  • Ensures product assortment meets financial plan targets and consumer needs.
  • Owns oversight of buying for one category end-to-end.
  • Develops conceptual assortment/buy plans for line planning and product development.
  • Provides direction to product development to meet attribute requirements.
  • Develops merchandising strategy including pricing and cadence.
  • Manages business to meet targets on gross margin, sales, sell-through, markdowns, inventory levels, and turn.
  • Directs merchandise projections and flow schedules for timely flow of merchandise.
  • Manages creation of POs and correct item/3rd party setup and attributes.
  • Monitors in-season performance and directs improvement actions as necessary.
  • Utilizes end of season analysis to modify future plans.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Identifies marketing and merchandising trends and ideas, and translates appropriately into realistic merchandise programs
  • Ensures overall product assortment meets financial plan targets and addresses consumer needs
  • Owns oversight of buying for one category end-to-end
  • Develops conceptual assortment/ buy plans to capture assortment needs to feed line planning and product development
  • Provides direction and input to product development to ensure that specific product attribute requirements are met and supported
  • Develops merchandising strategy including pricing, promotional pricing and cadence, markdown plans and timing
  • Manages business to meet company targets on gross margin, sales, sell through, markdowns, inventory levels, and turn
  • Directs merchandise projections and flow schedules to ensure timely and constant flow of merchandise
  • Manages creation of POs and correct item/3rd party set-up and attributes
  • Monitors in-season performance against plan and directs action for improvement as necessary
  • Utilizes end of season analysis provided by planners to modify seasonal strategic, merchandise and assortment plans going forward
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, other related field
  • 5+ years' merchandising experience.
  • Experience in buying Men's Apparel preferred
  • Sound analytical, financial, strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Superior communication and organization skills
  • High level of initiative and ability to execute independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to work within a collaborative and dynamic team environment with diverse groups of people
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Domestic travel required
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
