KINEMATICS LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Operator to assemble, test, register and package the finished product under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.

This temporary, full-time, hourly role requires standing for 8–12 hours, lifting 35–50 lbs, using handheld barcode scanners and a Warehouse Management System, with strict adherence to safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continually.
  • Experience with hand tools desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, register and package finished products according to instructions.
  • Record data from tests and report irregularities to supervisor.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards, wearing PPE as required.
  • Stand and walk on concrete for 8–12 hour shifts.
  • Operate barcode scanners, tablets and WMS to log data.
  • Keep work area clean and organized following 6S principles.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembly Operator is responsible for assembly, required testing, registration and packaging of the finished product. This individual will report to the Production Supervisor in the Manufacturing department.

Work Hours

Week 1 – Monday – Thursday 3:30 pm – 1:00 am and Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Week 2 – Monday – Thursday 3:30 pm – 1:00 am and Friday off

Salary

$18 an hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works in compliance with plant standards, ISO, OSHA, ect..
  • Comply with the defined production standards following the production plan.
  • Record data resulting from the tests carried out on the product.
  • Notifies production manager or quality personnel of irregularities in the manufacturing process, product or safety hazards as they happen.
  • Correctly dispose of scrap and defective parts.
  • Authorized to stop any process that puts the safety of personnel at risk or produces defective parts that do not meet specifications.
  • Follow established work instructions and the correct use of the tools to ensure product integrity and quality during assembly in the production process.
  • Includes utilizing the training received, recommendations given and knowledge acquired both in the manufacturing and safety aspects.
  • Complies with and enforces the company's safety regulations which include using the required PPE’s on a daily and continuous basis.
  • Complies with internal work regulations.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously on hard concrete surfaces for 8-12 hour shifts.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull objects weighing 35 to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead, and twisting the torso to retrieve or pack inventory
  • Sharp peripheral vision and acute hearing to detect backing forklifts, moving conveyor belts, and audible safety alarms. Also loud constant noises.
  • Competency in operating handheld barcode scanners, tablets, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to log data.
  • Ability to quickly add, subtract, and count stock to ensure absolute inventory accuracy.
  • Constantly calculating distances and trajectories to navigate safely around heavy machinery, blind corners, and high-stacked pallets.
  • Ability to work efficiently under strict time constraints, such as meeting hourly "picking quotas" or keeping up with a fast-moving assembly line
  • Remaining mentally alert to shifting hazards in the immediate surroundings, ensuring safety rules are never bypassed for speed.
  • Steel-toed safety boots with slip- and puncture-resistant soles protect against crushed toes from falling cargo.
  • Safety glasses guard against flying dust, debris, and small projectiles near machinery or chemical stations.
  • Correctly dispose of the different types of waste generated in the designated containers for each type of waste.
  • Maintain ethical behavior when engaging with co-workers and colleagues.
  • Actively participates in the cleaning and maintenance of work tools (hand tools, gages, fixtures, equipment, forklifts and their accessories, etc.)
  • Promptly reports any situation and findings regarding equipment for repair or replacement.
  • Promptly report unsafe acts and risky situations
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement of production, procedures and safety requirements.
  • Provide support to the team when required in various operations.
  • Keeps work area clean and tidy each day according to the 6's.
  • Ensures that all staff in the warehouse keep work areas clean and tidy each day.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
  • Highschool diploma or Equivalent
  • 6 months of work experience in Manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 50 lbs continuously during the shift.
  • Experience using hand tools is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Have a taste for dynamic work.
