Job summary

Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to keep our facility, equipment, and grounds safe and well-maintained for residents, visitors, and staff. The role requires performing routine and preventive maintenance, coordinating with other departments, and assisting with training of new team members.

We offer a 8am–4pm schedule, a competitive hourly rate of $16, and opportunities for growth within a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Minimum maintenance experience in healthcare or long-term care.
• General knowledge of building systems: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and with other departments.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Complete facility inspections and maintenance logs (water temps, call lights, generators, fire alarms).
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs promptly.
• Assist with upkeep of facility grounds and exterior areas.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruption to resident care.
• Report supply needs and repair recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assist with orientation and training of new maintenance team members as needed.
• Support the Maintenance Department and serve as a resource in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Participate in required training, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role inmaintaining a safe and comfortable environment by:

What We're Looking For

• Previousmaintenance experience in healthcare, long-term care, commercialfacilities, or a similar environment preferred.
