What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role inmaintaining a safe and comfortable environment by:
- Performingroutine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
- Conductingpreventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Completingrequired facility inspections and maintenance logs, including watertemperatures, call lights, generators, and fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshootingmaintenance issues and completing repairs in a timely manner.
- Assistingwith the upkeep of the facility grounds and exterior areas.
- Coordinatingmaintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruption toresident care.
- Reportingsupply needs, equipment concerns, and repair recommendations to theMaintenance Supervisor.
- Assistingwith the orientation and training of new maintenance team members asneeded.
- Supportingthe Maintenance Department and serving as a resource in the absence of theMaintenance Supervisor.
- Participatingin required training, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Performingother maintenance-related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Previousmaintenance experience in healthcare, long-term care, commercialfacilities, or a similar environment preferred.
- Generalknowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, andmechanical systems.
- Abilityto safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Abilityto read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strongtroubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Reliableattendance and punctuality.
- Abilityto work independently while collaborating effectively with otherdepartments.
- Abilityto safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or withoutreasonable accommodation.
