Job summary

Ridgeland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is seeking a motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will support the Maintenance Director in keeping the building safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include routine repairs on handrails, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, painting, HVAC and life safety systems, and general grounds work.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently while following direction and feedback.
• Knowledge of basic repairs and general facility maintenance.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new maintenance procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions related to maintenance and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist and take direction from the Maintenance Director in daily operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on handrails, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other facility components.
• Painting walls and ceilings as needed.
• Assist with maintenance of HVAC systems, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems.
• Perform general landscaping, yard work, including mowing, cleanup, and other types of general yard work.
• Maintain the building and grounds to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Director, as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and families, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

As a key member of our maintenance department, you will support the Maintenance Director in ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on handrails, windows, walls, ceilings, flooring, and other facility components

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, sanitation, and organization
• Experience working in a healthcare setting or with the elderly is preferred

Must be able to pass level 2 fingerprinting with an Eligible status.
