Job summary

Semafor is seeking recent college graduates to support our flagship live journalism events in a temporary role, preparing journalists, speakers, and attendees for participation at our flagship convening, Silicon Valley & The World.

You will collaborate with our content, programming, and events teams to develop briefing materials, background research, biographies, and organize key event logistics information.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in journalism, communications, Capitol Hill, or executive assistance in a high-velocity environment (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience).
• Impeccable judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and a calm, customer-service-driven composure when details change.
• Exceptional project management skills with the strongest attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Strongest communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Compile and synthesize complex logistical information.
• Draft, format, and distribute briefing packets for VIP speakers, moderators, and attendees.
• Research key talking points and gather speaker and attendee biographies.
• Support Semafor’s events team with other duties as required in preparation for the event.
