Position Summary:

As a Leasing Consultant, you are a dynamic professional who easily relates and communicates with prospective and current residents of your community. With a warm and energetic personality, you will consistently find joy in creating lasting and positive impressions. This role is responsible for coordinating the community's marketing, leasing, and renewal strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue retention goals. A successful Leasing Consultant is able to manage their time effectively, is detail-oriented, a trustworthy team player, and takes pride in their work. In addition, this position requires accountability and attentiveness to provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates, and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Walk marketing tour path, open target viewing apartments, ensure clean and rent-ready apartments, model homes, and community amenities.
  2. Respond to resident and prospective resident calls and emails promptly in the morning.
  3. Answer incoming calls, convert phone calls into walk-in traffic, set viewing appointments.
  4. Tour prospective residents with energy and enthusiasm the Weidner way.
  5. Ensure successful leasing by facilitating the application process at the end of the tour.
  6. Review and process all applications immediately upon receipt.
  7. Maintain timely and respectful communication with applicants upon receiving results.
  8. Follow Weidner Move-In Experience with all approved applicants.
  9. Maintain and follow up on traffic in queue.
  10. Shop competitive properties at least monthly; adhere to daily marketing and leasing strategies.
  11. Ensure market-ready apartments, common areas, and amenities are clean and maintained daily to Weidner’s standards.
  12. Assist team with distributing resident correspondence and notices while maintaining privacy of confidential information.
  13. Accompany vendors to units, as needed.
  14. Assist with lease renewals promptly to promote resident retention.
  15. Keep leasing office clean, orderly, and professional in appearance.
  16. Create, store, and maintain residential files, ensuring confidentiality.
  17. Collect revenues, including rents, deposits, and fees.
  18. Accept and document service requests; follow up upon completion.
  19. Follow all company key logging and storing procedures.
  20. Communicate effectively with Community Director.
  21. Promote safety and PPE use to minimize hazards.
  22. Respond to and follow up on safety issues, accidents, liabilities, and emergencies immediately.
Qualifications
  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with motivation to learn and contribute daily.
  • Ability to give clear professional directions in person, over the phone, email, and text.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred; willingness to learn new software such as Yardi and Paycom.
  • Follow Weidner’s Mission, Vision, and Values; comply with policies and laws.
  • Prompt, regular attendance; professional appearance and dress code adherence.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team and independently.
  • Willing to work outside scheduled hours as needed.
  • Willing to be assigned to other properties as needed.
  • English proficiency; detail-oriented and organized.
  • Must pass criminal background check and drug testing.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance at all times.
