Alachua County Supervisor of Elections is seeking a temporary Operations Assistant to support the configuration, deployment and maintenance of voting equipment across polling locations. The position operates under supervision and involves hands-on technical tasks and data entry.
Responsibilities include site surveys, stocking and transporting equipment, driving a county vehicle, and maintaining the Elections Operations Center.
Graduation from high school or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Successful completion of a criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment.
Valid Florida Driver License is required and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets the requirements of Alachua County policy #6-7; Motor Vehicle Records will be reviewed prior to employment. If, in the past 24-month period, the applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record has more than three (3) moving traffic infractions or three (3) or more at fault motor vehicle accidents (or combination of both and/or a conviction/pending charge for driving under the influence) or is in violation of any standard mandated by Federal or State Law or Regulation, the minimum qualifications are not met for the position.
Successful completion of a criminal history background investigation is required prior to employment.
This temporary position will consist of working 40 hours/week, excluding holidays, through November 2026This is technical work in the operations and training facility for the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office. An employee assigned to this classification performs a variety of standard technical tasks relating to the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of voting equipment and supplies throughout Alachua County. Work is performed under the direction of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports and observation of results obtained.
