Job summary

University of Louisville in Louisville, KY seeks a Temporary Physical AI Engineer to support time-limited AI initiatives for the Kentucky Center for Digital Innovation (KCDI) through hands-on research and coordination.

You will develop and test computer vision and ML models for research, assist with integration and testing on hardware or simulations, and document workflows and results while adhering to university security and privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• Six (6) or more years of related experience.
• Education/training and work experience combined in CS/engineering/data science is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test computer vision and machine-learning models for research applications.
• Support prototype development and evaluation for robotics, sensor systems, and edge-computing projects.
• Write, test, and document research code, datasets, experiments, and technical workflows.
• Assist with integration and testing of models on computing hardware and/or simulated environments.
• Summarize experimental results and troubleshoot issues; contribute to research reports and demonstrations.
• Follow university requirements for information security, data privacy, and research compliance.
• Support development, testing, and implementation of Physical AI technologies, including world foundation models and Cresco framework.
