Job summary

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report inquiry. Some prior passenger transport experience is preferred, with evening and weekend events possible.

Qualifications

• Valid driver"s license is required.

• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) inquiry.
• Some experience transporting passengers is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive transportation vehicle within prescribed routes according to time schedules.
• Conduct daily safety and operational inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Report needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
• Perform safety drills and complete required reports.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness for safe operation.
• Complete mileage and passenger count reports.
• Attend safety, first aid, and training updates as required.
• Operate a two-way radio and perform related duties.

Job Summary:

The Temporary Driver is responsible for transporting students, employees, and visitors across campus and offsite locations within designated route(s). This position is responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle, ensuring the safety of the passengers in the vehicle while meeting established transportation schedules.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Drives transportation vehicle within a prescribe route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging passengers at designated stops.
• Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily.
• Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary.
• Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition.
• Completes periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts.
• Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required.
• Operates a two-way radio.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
