Job description

The Delivery Driver Helper assists Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service (SWDS) drivers in making deliveries to customers and stores in a metropolitan area. This involves riding with the driver, helping unload products, maintaining safety awareness, and other duties as assigned. Work hours are typically from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but may vary based on business needs.

This is a temporary 90-day position.

The role involves contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, and valuable items. Therefore, a criminal history review is conducted to ensure safety and protect the company's reputation.

Job Duties:

1. Assist the driver with loading and unloading materials, following safety procedures and traffic laws, and documenting deliveries with signatures and photos via handheld devices.
2. Contact customers or stores prior to delivery and pickup.
3. Work a flexible schedule based on delivery needs.
4. Spend many hours riding in the passenger seat of a truck or van; driving is not required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
• At least one year of experience with material handling equipment.
• Experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
• Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish.
