George Fox University's Data Analytics Department seeks an organized and self-motivated individual to serve as a Temporary Data Analyst.
About the Job:
In this position, you will be responsible for developing reporting infrastructure to efficiently meet the data demands of government agencies, third-party surveyors, accrediting bodies, and internal stakeholders. You will develop quality controlled, low-overhead, data processes that reduce output variations across time periods and between reports utilizing the same conceptual inputs. This work will require collaboration across business units ranging from highly customer-facing to highly technically-oriented.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying and prioritizing reporting requirements, determining the necessary concepts and definitions, dependent data elements, and their sources.
- Utilizing enterprise approved tools to develop reproducible data-flows that ultimately fulfill reporting requirements.
- Implementing, testing, and monitoring the quality of developed data-flows and reporting outputs, performing upgrades as identified and maintenance as required.
- Working with multiple customers to analyze and visualize complex data in simple and accurate ways.
- Supporting other IT-related or program management support as needed such as preparing presentations, conducting research, testing new technologies, providing guidance on logical modeling, etc.
- Assisting in the application of advanced methods of predictive modeling and educating customers on the use and expected results of advanced analytics.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.

We're looking for candidates who have:
- A Bachelor's Degree or further education.
- Experience reading and writing advanced SQL queries.
- Familiarity with the Python programming language.
- Report building or analytics experience.
- Previous experience utilizing a "systems"/holistic approach to identify and realize both technical and business opportunities and use of logic to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- The ability to develop and implement strategies that support objectives in a dispassionate, agenda free, manner using the evaluation of evidence to aid decision making.
- A tenacious, iterative-mentality that drives continuous improvement and limits wasted effort and a consistent and rigorous approach brought to daily activities and assigned priorities.
