Job summary

The Butte-Glenn Community College District is seeking a temporary Controller to join the Fiscal Services team in California. The Controller will lead accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, and compliance, driving efficiency and strong internal controls to ensure timely financial information.

This is a 195-day, non-exempt temporary position with a Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule, and Friday 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. The pool is open until filled.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration.
• Five years of progressively responsible financial and accounting experience with detailed financial reporting.
• At least one year in a supervisory or management role related to accounting tasks.
• Direct experience with annual financial audits and implementing new accounting standards.
• Equivalency between education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across all accounting operations, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure timely, accurate financial information.
• Collaborate with Fiscal Services to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or public administration

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible financial and accounting experience including detailed financial reporting

One (1) year of management and/or supervisory level experience

Direct experience coordinating and preparing Annual Financial Audit Reports and implementing new accounting standards

Education/experience equivalency considered
