Sol de Janeiro is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to generate and facilitate documentation required for customs and compliance activities. As a member of the Global Operations and Logistics team, this role reports to the Manager, Customs and Compliance. This role can expect an hourly rate of $25 - 30 per hour, dependent on experience. This role is temporary and not eligible for bonus.

This role will work with internal partners, third party logistics operations, freight forwarders, and customs agencies globally to ensure Sol de Janeiro’s shipments are correctly documented. This position requires strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-details skills, as well as a collaborative mindset to facilitate communication across teams. This role is a unique opportunity to learn about global customs and compliance documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Document Creation:

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to generate accurate documentation for international shipping.
  • Ensure processing timeliness to avoid shipping delays.
  • Monitor communications with internal and external partners to correct, revise, and retransmit updated documents.
  • Strictly adhere to instructions for generating customs documents
  • Work with internal partners to capture all relevant shipping documents electronically to support potential future audits.
  • Organize retained documents to easily retrieve in bulk.
  • Identify and collect older documents for retention.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve document creation and accuracy
  • Suggest opportunities to improve and streamline communications among various stakeholders
  • Document best practices and improve existing work instructions.

General Support:

  • Support the Manager of Customs and Compliance with special projects and activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or any bachelor’s degree with at least 1 years’ recent experience in logistics or 3 years’ experience in international logistics administration.
  • Skilled and experienced with Microsoft Office tools (Specifically Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Working knowledge of international shipping preferred.
  • Working knowledge of distribution center operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP or NetSuite is helpful.
  • Strong verbal communication and cross functional coordination skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and extremely well organized.

Salary Range

$25 - $30 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
