Job summary

Saint Peter’s Health Care System is seeking a Cashier - Temporary to support the Business Office. You will download daily ERA from insurers, assist with deposits, and post checks while ensuring accurate patient account posting.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of clerical and cashier experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA 835s, vouchers, drafts, third party payors, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer use.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, agencies, departments, and insurers.
• Ability to identify missing information and ensure proper credit to patient accounts and posting.

Responsibilities

• Download daily Electronic Remittance Advices (ERA) from insurance companies.
• Assist with daily deposit and posting of paper checks.
• Identify all checks and cash received that lack patient account information.
• Act on all Payment Review Requests from collectors.
• Answer telephone in a courteous and professional manner.
• Reconcile Cash Tracking Report. Perform other duties as assigned.
