Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Temporary Full Time Cashier to support the Finance/Shared Services unit. You will handle, balance, and deposit funds from UNC Health services, following corporate and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include disbursing petty cash, preparing deposits, processing payments and refunds, and reconciling transactions to ensure receipts match. Prior cashier or bank teller experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Disburse petty cash, parking coupons, phone cards, cash vouchers, and patient valuables.
• Prepare annual inventory of unclaimed valuables and their submission to the State.
• Prepare funds for bank deposit and make deposit.
• Process payments, refunds, deposits, and check requests. Issue receipts.
• Provide reconciliation of transactions and ensure funds balance with receipts.
• Record transactions on account records and ensure regulatory documents are properly recorded per UNCHCS protocols.
