Job summary

The University of Colorado Boulder’s Campus Dining and Hospitality team is hiring a Temporary Campus Dining Attendant to support front-of-house and back-of-house operations in our dining venues. The role requires a willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment, with at least 3 months of related experience and up to one year in food service.

The position pays $18.90 per hour and is designated as essential work.

Responsibilities

• Back of House (BOH): Prepare and assemble ingredients for recipes; prepare entrees, starches, vegetables, and soups from raw state; use a variety of equipment; clean prep areas and equipment; assist with setup, maintenance and breakdown of production and service areas.
• Front of House (FOH): Production setup; tending to drink and service lines; stock and replenish service ware; sanitize high contact surfaces.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

• Back of House (BOH):
  • Prepare and assemble ingredients for recipes.
  • Prepare entrees, starches, vegetables, and soups from raw state.
  • Use a variety of equipment and cooking techniques.
  • Clean prep areas, equipment and dishes following proper sanitation methods.
  • Assist with setup, maintenance and breakdown of production and service areas.
• Front of House (FOH):
  • Production set up, which includes tending to drink and service lines, dish rooms, dining rooms and courtesy stands
  • Stock and replenishes service ware Follows all sustainability and recycling procedures. Sanitize high contact surfaces.

Safety/Sanitation

• Follows set food safety guidelines including allergen labeling procedures
• Attends dish room; cleans seating areas, furniture, floors and fixtures
• Serves on the food safety response team and responds to all food safety emergencies as appropriate to the work assignment

Personnel

• Provides excellent customer service
• Empowered to make decisions in areas within their span of control
• Follows CDH uniform guidelines and personnel hygiene standards

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave .

Essential Services

This position is designated "essential/critical services." The incumbent is required to respond to requests for work during campus emergencies (snow, wind, rain, flood and any other natural or man-made event) and report to work for regularly assigned shifts during emergency campus closures.
