PrideStaff is seeking a Temp Buyer to support active production schedules and material procurement in Whippany, NJ. This temporary role focuses on purchasing raw materials, components, and services to keep manufacturing on track.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years in purchasing within manufacturing, solid experience with MRP/ERP and Excel, and strong negotiation and communication skills. Pay is $35.00–$38.00 per hour, with a 3-month assignment and potential for hire.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Sourcing: Purchase raw materials, components, and services to keep production running.
• PO Management & Tracking: Issue POs, track statuses, expedite shipments to prevent shortages.
• Vendor Management: Solicit quotes, negotiate pricing/terms, monitor supplier performance.
• Inventory & Planning: Work with MRP/ERP to balance material availability and targets.
• Problem Solving: Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Finance to resolve discrepancies.

** Temporary Buyer – Manufacturing & Supply Chain**

** Location:** Whippany, NJ

** Type:** Temporary (3 Months – Potential for Hire)

** Hours:** Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

** Pay Rate:** $35.00 – $38.00 / hour

** About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Temp Buyer to support our active production schedules and material procurement. In this Temp Buyer position, we welcome purchasing talent from manufacturing, industrial products, automotive, medical device, or aerospace backgrounds.

** Key Responsibilities**

• ** Procurement & Sourcing:** As a Temp Buyer , you will purchase raw materials, components, and specialized services to keep production running smoothly.
• ** PO Management & Tracking:** Issue accurate purchase orders, track order statuses, and expedite shipments to prevent material shortages.
• ** Vendor Management:** Solicit quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and monitor supplier delivery performance.
• ** Inventory & Planning:** Work within MRP/ERP systems to balance material availability with inventory targets.
• ** Problem Solving:** Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Finance to resolve order discrepancies or non-conformance issues.

** Qualifications**

• ** 1–3+ years** of purchasing experience, ideally working as a Temp Buyer , Buyer, or Procurement Specialist in manufacturing.
• Hands‑on proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and detail‑oriented organization skills.
• Ability to review technical specifications and supplier quotes.
• _ Preferred:_ Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
