Job summary

PrideStaff is seeking a Temp Buyer to support active production schedules and material procurement in Whippany, NJ. This temporary role focuses on purchasing raw materials, components, and services to keep manufacturing on track.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years in purchasing within manufacturing, solid experience with MRP/ERP and Excel, and strong negotiation and communication skills. Pay is $35.00–$38.00 per hour, with a 3-month assignment and potential for hire.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient with MRP/ERP systems and Excel.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and detail‑oriented organization.
• Preferred: experience in regulated manufacturing (ISO 9001, AS9100).

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Sourcing: Purchase raw materials, components, and services to keep production running.
• PO Management & Tracking: Issue POs, track statuses, expedite shipments to prevent shortages.
• Vendor Management: Solicit quotes, negotiate pricing/terms, monitor supplier performance.
• Inventory & Planning: Work with MRP/ERP to balance material availability and targets.
• Problem Solving: Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Finance to resolve discrepancies.
