Job summary

The University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a temporary Extra Help - Building Service Worker for the Student Center East (SCE) Building Services & Operations in Chicago, IL. This on-site position is limited to 900 hours and pays $23.31 per hour.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, vacuuming lounges, stripping and sealing floors, cleaning restrooms, moving furniture, and supporting special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous custodial or building service experience is not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment and floor care machines to maintain floor surfaces.
• Vacuum, shampoo lounges and carpeted areas.
• Clean restrooms, sinks, toilets and replenish supplies as needed.
• Move furniture and set up meeting spaces as directed.
• Remove snow from entrance walkways and steps as needed.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
