Job summary

Hilton Short Hills is seeking a Banquet team member for a temporary, unionized role in Short Hills, NJ. You will assist guests, manage luggage, and uphold the hospitality standards across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Show guests to their room and assist with luggage.
• Explain hotel facilities, hours, and answer questions.
• Check luggage for day and overnight guests.
• Maintain the lobby bellstand, and baggage area, and stay station-ready.
• Open doors and greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobby, bellstand, and baggage room.
• Ensure open communication across shifts.

• Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• This is a temporary position

Here is what you will be doing:

• Show guests to room assisting them with their luggage.
• Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions.
• Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight.
• Maintain the designated station in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts.
• Open doors and greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bellstand, lobby and baggage room.
• Maintain an open communication line through all shifts
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Ability to meet standards of appearance. Can communicate well with guests. Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co workers with their job duties and be a team player.
