Job description

Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Aviation Maintenance Technician with general aircraft maintenance duties and inspections.

Serve as a laborer on two‑person and multi‑person jobs, ensuring overall safety, preventing personal injuries, and providing quality assurance backups.

Help expedite repairs to reduce aircraft downtime.

• Report parts usage and assist with parts procurement, stocking, and inventory.
• Participate in a weekly preventative maintenance program, checking each aircraft for lubrication, fluids, and tire pressures.
• Assist in maintaining support equipment in ready condition.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and university administrative and operational procedures.
• Strong ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced, noisy environment while exercising sound judgment at all times.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Non‑FAA Certified Apprentice‑level technician, typically a student of an FAA Part 147 school or an apprentice under an OJT self‑paced training program seeking FAA certification in Airframe and Powerplant.

Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety precautions used in aviation maintenance.
