Job summary

Abilene ISD seeks a Substitute/Temporary administrator to direct and manage assigned instructional areas and campus operations. The role oversees student activities and services while supporting staff development and program evaluation.

The candidate will hold a Master’s degree with a Texas principal certificate or equivalent, and three years of classroom teaching experience. TTESS appraiser certification is preferred for this leadership position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; Texas principal or appropriate certificate.
• TTESS appraiser certification preferred.
• Experience: three years as a classroom teacher.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional program and campus operations, supporting staff development and program evaluation.
• Guide planning to ensure attainment of campus mission; develop campus improvement plans with staff and parents.
• Oversee student management, discipline systems, and school climate improvement.
• Manage administration and fiscal/Facilities tasks including class schedules, budgets, and inventory.
• Supervise and evaluate professional staff; assist in interviewing and onboarding new staff.
• Foster strong school/community relations and ensure district policies are followed.
