Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Department Manager to help lead daily bakery operations, ensure quality, freshness, and outstanding customer service, and support the Bakery Department Manager in driving sales.

You will assist with production planning, merchandising, scheduling, hiring, coaching, and developing bakery associates while maintaining food safety standards in a fast-paced store environment.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in temperature-controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Bakery Department operations with emphasis on quality, freshness, and service.
• Assist planning and execution of daily bakery production based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Execute merchandising plans, promotions, planograms, and seasonal programs.
• Assist in managing department sales, labor, scheduling, inventory, and shrink goals.
• Support hiring, training, and development of bakery associates; lead in the absence of the Bakery Manager.

Main responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily Bakery Department operations, ensuring high standards for quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service.
• Foster a welcoming, customer‑focused environment and resolve customer concerns and special orders
• Assist with planning and executing daily bakery production based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Execute merchandising plans, promotions, planograms, and seasonal programs
• Assist in managing department sales, labor, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and shrink goals.
• Support compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and developing bakery associates while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Perform Bakery Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager

• Ability to review sales, labor, and production data to inform departmental planning
• Ability to train, coach, and develop associates at various skill levels
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments
