Position Title: Temporary Administrative Secretary

Title of Immediate Supervisor: Executive Assistant to Executive Director

Salary Range: $41,764 to $61,705 Annually

Summary of Position

This position provides administrative and clerical support to the Executive Director’s office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs a variety of tasks including typing, filing, follow-up assignments and telephone coverage for the office of the Executive Director (which includes the Executive Assistant and the newly created Fund Development Manager).
  • Responsible for typing letters, memorandums, reports, proposals, grants, Fair Hearing forms and other reporting data.
  • Provides backup support to the Executive Assistant and primary support in the absence of the Executive Assistant in carrying out the overall responsibilities to the Executive Office.
  • Assists in coordination of meetings for the Board of Directors and its various committees.
  • When and if applicable, provides both written and oral translation services as needed.
  • Provides support and assistance to the Executive Office in the management of SCLARC/FOS Board of Directors and other Community Advisory Committees.

Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or four years of related experience and/or training including public contact; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
