Job summary

Oregon City High School is seeking a high-energy Health and Physical Education teacher for grades 9-12. Plan and instruct engaging Health/PE lessons, collaborate with staff and stakeholders, and communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues to support 21st‑century learning.

We emphasize AVID, WICOR, group work, and culturally responsive teaching to reach every learner and foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Oregon teaching license with an endorsement in Health.
• Enthusiasm for learning and implementing new strategies, including AVID, WICOR, group work, culturally responsive teaching.
• Knowledge of high leverage instructional strategies.
• Ability to create a student-centered classroom.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and use varied assessment strategies.

Job description

Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 2,000 students, located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. We are looking for high-energy and creative educators that will continue our collective focus on engaging all learners at high levels, while building students' foundations for the 21st century. We are an AVID Certified school and are also working with the Center for High School Success with a focus on ninth grade success. Candidate Skills and Qualifications
