Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a Temple Facilities Assistant Manager for the Layton Temple in Layton, UT. This full-time role guides fellow assistants, coordinates with custodians, security, and grounds, and supports the Temple Engineer with maintenance planning.

Typical duties include maintaining HVAC, water treatment, electrical, and building systems, ensuring safety, and using FMAT/TFIS.

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience in physical plant operation and extensive skilled-trades experience (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical repair).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and training skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Basic computer skills and licensure as required by local law.
• Current Temple Recommend required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates temple facilities to support temple ordinances.
• Provides maintenance for heating, cooling, water treatment, and related systems.
• Repairs laundry, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, and other building components.
• Maintains baptismal font purification, water supply, and pH control per codes.
• Maintains electrical systems, lighting and control wiring; ensures safety.
• Maintains projection, sound and communication systems.
• Assists planning and organization using FMAT, TFIS and related tools.
