Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Temple Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, custodial, grounds, and security for one temple and up to four smaller temples. You will enforce standards set by the First Presidency and ensure the temple reflects its sacred nature.

Responsibilities include project management for capital expenditure, supervising 10–20 staff, coordinating with HR for hiring and firing decisions, and reporting on progress and budgets.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in facilities management, building industry, project management or a related field
• Six years of experience in the facilities management industry
• Or equivalent combination of education and work experience; total of ten years combined education and experience

Responsibilities

• Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
• Hire or fire employees in partnership with HR and recommend changes in status
• Typically manages 10-20 employees with supervisors reporting to them
• Maintain temple and related buildings (~70k sq ft) and ensure peak usage standards
• Oversee maintenance of electrical, mechanical, AV, and plumbing systems
• Coordinate project and operational costs, preventive maintenance, and repairs
• Manage department labor costs and third-party relationships
• Participate in project close-out procedures and explain substantial completion
