General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a TEMPEST Security Specialist to support the Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority in validating that SCI processing facilities meet TEMPEST requirements.

You will review testing, worksheets, PDS packages and generate Site Survey Reports for approval. The role requires TS/SCI w/ Polygraph, 8+ years of related TEMPEST experience, and completion of TEMPEST courses.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or 10+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Completion of TEMPEST Fundamentals Course and TEMPEST for System Installation and Design Course.
• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph.
• Graduation from the TSCM Fundamentals course is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review TEMPEST testing and TEMPEST worksheets for compliance.
• Review Red/Black Installation/Separation and PDS packages for compliance.
• Create Site Survey Reports and SOCOMM messages for customer approval and release.
• Record documents and task closures in the customer database.
• Produce an Ad Hoc TEMPEST report describing anomalies or discoveries.

Job Description:

The TEMPEST Security Specialist assists the Certified TEMPEST Technical Authority (CTTA) in the formal affirmation that government facilities and customer sponsored contractor facilities where SCI is electronically processed meet the security requirements of applicable TEMPEST policies efficiently and cost effectively. The TEMPEST engineer will product TSS deliverables. Shall review TEMPEST testing, TEMPEST worksheets, Red and Black Installation/Separation and Protective Distribution System (PDS) packages to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Shall create Site Survey Reports and SOCOMM message for customer approval and release. Record the documents and task closure in customer database. The TEMPEST engineer will conduct ad hoc testing using equipment from the Government's TEMPEST inventory. Product an Ad Hoc TEMPEST report, with descriptions of any anomalies, concerns, or discoveries.

A TEMPEST Engineer must demonstrate knowledge of the following:

• a. a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices in the use of TEMPEST and TSCM analysis techniques.
• b. Interpreting complex facility architectural and infrastructure plans/drawings.
• c. Probability, statistics, information theory and the ability to implement processes using computer programs.
• d. Information and communication theory.
• e. signal propagation and antenna theory.
• f. Structural parameters and grounding techniques, test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
• g. Computing principles and internal functionality.
• h. Computer database management and working knowledge of programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, Lab view, Visio, AutoCAD Lite, Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of physical security countermeasures.
• i. PDS construction materials and methods.
• j. Physical intrusion detection system technology.
• k. Interpreting complex signal component wiring diagrams. May serve as team or task lead. (Not a people manager)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: BA/BS or 10+ years of experience
• Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
• Required Technical Skills: Completion of TEMPEST Fundamentals Course and TEMPEST for System Installation and Design Course.
• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Polygraph
• Preferred Skills: Graduation from the TSCM Fundamentals course at the Interagency Training Center is highly desirable

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
