Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston is seeking a part-time Coach to support athletic programs for the 26-27 academic year. This hourly role requires 4-5 hours per week for 6-8 weeks and pays $20 per hour. You will organize practices, monitor academics, and ensure safety and compliance while fostering student growth.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of coaching experience.
• Strong knowledge of the sport and safety guidelines.
• Must hold CPR and AED certification or schedule training to become certified.

Responsibilities

• Organizing practices and games.
• Monitoring the academic progress of student athletes.
• Include issuing and collecting uniforms.
• Providing an orientation of a sound program to all student athlete participants.
• Communicating with coaches and athletic director on the progression of the student athletes and the team.
• Realizing the athlete is a student first; academics have priority over athletics.
• Being on time to all scheduled athletic events.
• Practicing with a plan and purpose.
• Training each student-athlete to become in the best physical condition as possible.
• Putting the team first, and the individual second.
• Staying with the team, at all times, until the last student-athlete and their parents/guardians.
• Collecting athlete documentation such as physicals and other important paperwork in a designated Athletics Binder in order to remain in compliance with State and YES Prep policies.
• Additional duties as assigned.
