Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Accountant for a nonprofit client in Lacey, WA. The position supports Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Journal Entries in a fast-paced office environment.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on accounting, strong AP experience, and attention to detail. This temporary position may lead to an Evaluation-to-Hire opportunity, with 100% in-office work in Lacey, WA.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in hands‑on accounting including AP/GL/AR and journal entries
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Strong AP experience and understanding of general accounting principles
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
• Experience with contracts is a plus
• Attention to detail and accuracy required
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Responsibilities

• Process and enter a high volume of bills and AP transactions
• Handle AR activities as needed
• Maintain GL accounts and prepare journal entries
• Review accounting information for accuracy and documentation
• Assist with account reconciliations and other accounting functions
• Work with contracts and ensure related accounting is processed accurately
• Enter and maintain information in accounting systems
• Collaborate with two team members to keep processes moving smoothly
• Communicate with team about questions or discrepancies
• Prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain organized financial records
• Manage sensitive financial information professionally
