Job Description

• Prepare thin slices of human, animal, or plant tissue on slides for analysis.
• Examine, fix, and process tissue samples for proper preservation.
• Embed tissue in paraffin wax.
• Cut tissue samples with a microtome or cryostat.
• Mount tissue samples on slides and stain for abnormality detection.
• Recognize procedural factors affecting quality and take corrective actions.
• Perform maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage supplies and quality-control procedures.
