REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RRT) – TRAVEL ASSIGNMENT.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a travel assignment at a critical access hospital. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, and operate a variety of respiratory care equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory illnesses.
• Independently manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, various PAP modalities, and high-flow oxygen.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and assist with airway management, including intubations.
• Perform pulmonary function tests (PFTs).
• Adapt to varying clinical situations and solve problems independently.
• Be willing to learn additional skills, including home sleep testing and pulmonary rehabilitation.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2 years of current Registered Respiratory Therapy experience.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Active Vermont RRT license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage ventilators, PAP modalities, high-flow oxygen, and PFTs.
• Willingness to learn home sleep testing and pulmonary rehabilitation.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission.
• A maximum of 5 days of requested time off will be accepted; fewer days are preferred.
• No block scheduling or other scheduling accommodations will be approved.
• Scheduling requests made after submission, during the interview, or after an offer may result in the offer being rescinded.

HOLIDAY AVAILABILITY:

Travelers must be available to work two holiday coverage periods, if scheduled or needed, from the following:

• Thanksgiving Day, the following Friday, and the weekend after.
• Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend.
• New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend.

Travelers should not expect to have all holidays off.
