Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a detailed, mission-driven coordinator to support Election Protection and voting rights advocacy. The role handles poll monitoring logistics, volunteer recruitment, and data-driven research for democracy projects, collaborating with DNI leadership and partners.

You will contribute to policy coalitions, develop educational materials, and coordinate events and outreach across California communities, leveraging Canva and social media tools while maintaining strong written and verbal

Qualifications

• Some college preferred and interest in civil rights/policy advocacy.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Support and coordinate ALC's Election Protection and other voting rights advocacy work
• Handle administration and logistics for poll monitoring
• Manage volunteer correspondence, recruitment, and polling place assignments
• Track and support partner organizations
• Complete data analysis and research assignments for DNI projects
• Participate in local and statewide policy coalitions or convenings as needed
• Support event planning, programming, and informational or educational opportunities
• Research and analyze data for democracy projects
• Write and edit DNI resources and publications, including fliers, factsheets, training materials, presentations, reports, social media content, toolkits, and informational materials
• Perform other assignments and administrative duties
• Work closely with DNI's Senior Project Coordinator and report to the DNI Director

Requirements

• Some college preferred
• Demonstrated interest in civil rights and racial justice issues, and commitment to advancing the rights of low-income, people of color, and/or immigrant communities
• 1-2 years of experience working with, serving, or organizing in immigrant communities or historically under-represented communities, preferably with some civic engagement or voting rights experience
• Familiarity with California
• Highly detail-oriented and organized
• Experience analyzing and managing spreadsheets and large quantities of geographically located data
• Strong written/oral communication skills and strong analytical skills
• Some graphic design skills using apps like Canva or other design software
• Bilingual skills in Chinese, Vietnamese, or another API language preferred
• Interest in community engagement and policy advocacy
• Enthusiastic team player and self-starter
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
