Job summary

Southwest Shipyard, LP is seeking a Temp Payroll Clerk in Channelview, TX to manage end-to-end payroll processing on a weekly and semi-monthly schedule using ADP Workforce Now. This 6-month assignment supports the accounting team and related projects.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and at least 3 years of payroll experience, with strong knowledge of US payroll taxation and ADP services (garnishments, unemployment verification, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years current payroll experience in ADP Workforce Now.
• Extensive knowledge of US payroll including tax compliance.
• Experience with ADP services such as garnishment, wage payment, tax, and unemployment verification.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing within ADP.
• Calculate wages, deductions, commissions, and bonuses accurately and securely.
• Review payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare payroll statements, earnings summaries, and tax forms.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations.
