Job summary

City of Garland is seeking a cart attendant to manage golf carts, keep the fleet clean, fueled, and ready each morning, and return carts to the cart barn at day’s end. You will help maintain the practice range and assist players and staff as needed.

This hourly position emphasizes reliable service, safety, and teamwork in an outdoor setting, with a pay range of $12 to $15 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. A valid Class C Texas driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; no experience needed or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of golf tournaments and leagues is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with employees, officials, and the public.
• Ensure carts are available for player use at all times.
• Open and prepare the practice range in mornings; fill dispenser with range balls.
• Enforce course rules among golfers and dress code.
• Work with Pro Shop to support tournaments.
• Keep clubhouse and practice areas clean, including restrooms and trash receptacles.
• Respond to complaints from golfers.
• Operate a motor vehicle to support department activities.

Job description

Summary Responsible for staging carts which includes bringing carts from the cart barn in the morning, cleaning, fueling and checking carts after each use and returning carts to cart barn at the end of the day.

Pay Range: $12.00 - $15.00 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
• Ensure that carts are available for player use at all times.
• Ensure that practice range is open and ready for players in the mornings and will pick, clean and fill dispenser with range balls throughout the day.
• Enforce established rules of course among golfers such as out of bound areas, cart regulations, wearing of proper clothing and practicing at designated sites.
• Work closely with Pro Shop staff to prepare for and conduct golf tournaments.
• Ensure the clubhouse and practice range areas are kept orderly and clean, including restrooms and trash receptacles.
• Responds to complaints from golfers.
• Operate a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.

Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) No experience required Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience: 1 year experience in similar role Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic knowledge of golf tournament and league operations Exceptional customer service skills Skill in communicating effectively with customers Ability to address and resolve concerns/issues raised by golf patrons Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely

Licenses and Certifications

The incumbent works outside with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental and varying weather conditions or hazards including exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.
